Czech scenery - steps and developers

Czech scenery project - main creators

I was thinking about development schedule and I have this idea, so please tell me, if you agree with it or if you have different ideas


- Geoff created a terrain finished

- Basic map or terrain (Milos) finished

- Milos will create a testing scenery for expected performance and will organize a test with beta tester (slow PCs) finished with success

- Jiri will prepare maps: trees, roads, rivers, cities finished


- Geoff will place all airports (firstly only a lat/lon/ lenght ) according to SeeYou (default and finished airports from Slovakia and CR_small projects) without flattening a terrain finished


- Milos (and Geoff) will create textures progress

- Geoff /Milos will place objects (cities and villages)

- Jiri and Milan will create some realistic airports and objects

- Mirek (MJJ) will create a TP (cup file)

- Geoff (Milos) will create a thermal map

- Milos will create a PDA map at the end[/b]

First tests looks optimistically, testers confirm flyability and possibility join to server. Tests are continuing...

Plea for Geoff:

We are now testing a terrain and it looks good, so may I ask you to do next step, add all missing airport to our area?

Firstly open a SeeYou and please at setup change a lat/lon to decimal degrees ( 48.2564 as example)
Then press a icon, which open a map for you, and find our area. I added many airports here, but only left-up sector, so we must add all airports now. Then open a scenery Czech republic 0.0 at CST.



Find a airport, press a right button and select "edit point"



Create a new airport at CST and you can copy there: name of airport, Lat and Lon (warning: symbol , must be changed to . (dot)), heading of runway. Lenght of runway set please to 1000 for all airports and size to 80m) Altitude 0. We will set airports with better accuracy at the end, when we will to have airport models.
Create a default airport for every of new placed airports.



Be so kind and add there all missing airport EXCEPT ULL ultralight airports (when lenght of runway is 0). When it will be ready, please upload file Czech republic.APT for our ftp, folder Czech republic/Airports.

Yes, all of this should be possible.

Do you have the full list of airports for Czech Republic Scenery.

Hi Geoff. Thank you. I have no list of Czech airports, better say, we do not need it. All aiports (south part is a Austia, left up is a Germany) are at SeeYou, so I was not able to find a better way how to place airports. At SeeYou we have exact coordinations at Condor decimal degress and all data and copy data from SeeYou to CST is a very safe and quick way - no possible mistakes with rewriting a numbers. If I can recommend, please try it from SeeYou - when you will open CST with our terrain and SeeYou as a second windows, you would see airport and terrain. If you will have any problem with it, please tell me, I will help you. Please do not forget set at SeeYou:

I'm not sure if I have downloaded the correct map of Czech Republic for SeeYou.

I have taken a screenshot but not able to upload to this forum.

There is not possible to upload a pictures, I am using a link to my ftp. So no problem, send picture by mail, please. You need these files for SeeYou:

vector maps: Europe, Germany, Alps



then databese of Turnpoints

When you click right mouse button at airport, you will have data about it.

I have only downloaded cit_eeurope map, it looks like I will only need the map to the left of cit_eeurope, is this correct.

yes, I think so... I have all maps for whole Europe, so I am not sure what is a good enought, but when you start with Germany, maybe it will ok.

I now have all the maps that are required, how do you select the correct area for selecting airports that are covered within the scenery borders.

I have downloaded Czech republic v0.0 scenery and I'm unable to open this using CST Landscape editor, after approx 6 secs the screen is jusy blank and when I move the mouse the mouse pointer becomes a cross.

Any ideas.

A very simple mistake made by me, the problem was the scenery folder was called Czech republic 0.0 and all the files inside the folder are called Czech republic this was the error.

Yes. My mistake. Riso, owner of web, set your usuall mail, so this problem was solved too. Thank you, Riso. Geoff, please look at my message above - there are a pictures with SeeYou setup - I hope, it help you for airport displaying. I am not a expert for SeeYou and I am not sure, what other must be set for airport displaying. So I hope it will be working.

And of course you must have correct waypoints imported for CR/Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia...

there are a pictures with SeeYou setup - I hope, it help you for airport displaying. I am not a expert for SeeYou and I am not sure, what other must be set for airport displaying. So I hope it will be working.
